in I Am a Caregiver (General Topics)

My DH is rapidly approaching end stage.  He drifts further from me everyday and it is killing me. For two weeks I have begun and ended each day in tears. While he is still sleeping in the morning I pull up the forum and I just wanted to thank all of you who can relate, for giving me strength and patience and helping me to be grateful for the time I still have instead of dwelling on time lost.  This forum has been a Godsend to me.

I pray that all caregivers find strength, peace and comfort in what they are doing.  To my new found family - THANK YOU!

    While your are remembering think about and give yourself credit for all the hard work that you did! Caring for LOs in any situation is hard work and caring for anyone especially a LO with dementia/ALZ is 2xs or 3xs as difficult, but you did that!

    Take time to reflect on the beauty of your lives, you will always have those memories to draw upon.
