Bible Verse to Lift You Up 2/21/21

FOCUS ON JESUS=MORE PEACE, MORE JOY!
*
Colossians 2:6-7 New King James Version
“As you therefore have received Christ Jesus the Lord, so walk in Him, rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, abounding in it with thanksgiving.”
*
 From Sarah Young’s JESUS CALLING
“The more you choose to trust Me, the easier it becomes. Thought patterns of trust become etched into your brain. Relegate troubles to the periphery of your mind, so that I can be central in your thoughts. Thus your focus on Me, entrusting your concerns into My care.”
*
me: We have all heard the phrase, “focus on Jesus.” To me that means when I have worries and fears, I make a decision to think about my Lord’s love and His watchful care for me. When I’m extra upset that takes work. I must prayerfully and intentionally throw out the negative thoughts and only allow faith thoughts even if I have to do this a thousand times a day.
*
TAKE AWAY: Let's not forget to come to the Lord with thanksgiving no matter what our circumstances.

There is ( to me, anyway ) a fascinating word that is used many, many times in the scriptures. That word is in. It doesn't seem like much, on the surface, but, as an example, if we look at only the verses you have in today's message, we can see it used 4 times.

I guess what I like so much about the word in is the way it can be used in so powerful a way. We don't only walk with Jesus , but we walk in Him. We are not just rooted and built up with knowledge of The Lord Jesus, but we are rooted and built up  in Him.

To me, this means we are dug in ; we are inserted ; we are a part of whatever or whoever we are in. There is nothing surface about Jesus. We are either all in, or we are not in at all.

It all makes me wish I knew more about languages. It also makes me glad I am in Our Lord Jesus.
