Thank you all who have related to, understood, and reached out to me with our latest batch of caregiving madness. As things keep going downhill so fast I haven't been able to say proper thanks to each of you. Here's the conclusion of our dementia exile...

Oh Lickety, You and your sister have done such a phenomenal job caring for your Mom on this long, hard journey. We should all be so lucky. I'm thinking of you and wishing you and your Mom peace and comfort.0

You have been the best daughter a Mother could want for this journey with this terrible disease. Our prayers are with you during your next steps.

Lickety,
Good on you for standing your ground and advocating for your mom. It’s not easy in the best of times, but to be outnumbered by a fire truck and ambulance crew took some real chutzpah! I hope the days ahead are peaceful for your mom, you, the other girl, MM and the BitB. I will “Hail Mary” all of you to sleep tonight. It’s my standard MO and the best I can offer from across the country. Stay strong.

Thank you so much for all your postings. Your dedication and honesty is incomparable. I have learned so much from you and appreciate your courage. You are a rare gift to all of us. May God bless you mightily for the care and love you have performed for your Mom and for being a mentor to us.0

Lickety - that storm was harrowing enough (I'm about three hours to the north of you), made even more harrowing trying to navigate your mom. Beyond impressive that you were able to get what your mom needed during that time. And so glad you were able to get her home!
I too hope that the next hours or days are peaceful ones for you, your mom, and everyone in your family (including MM).
Six months from now, or maybe a year from now, I know you'll have the distance and perspective to fully appreciate the full extent of everything you did for your mom. I know you've said that you made promises about your mom's care, and you've kept those promises, and exceeded them. You're just the best.
Sending all positive thoughts your way.

Lickety, my heart has been with you since you put this post up. You have poured yourself into your mom's care and heart, and she knows it somewhere/somewhen. May you have deep peace as your life twined with hers progresses.
I don't know the Hail Mary, but my MO is Psalm 23. You've been part of that.
