New and overwhelmed...

I am not sure if this is where I need to be as we don''t yet have a definitive diagnosis for my husband. For now, it is cognitive impairment. He is 57 years old. It started about 2 years ago with short term memory issues. His long term memory is great! I am looking for ways to make the most of our day to day communication. Sometimes, he gets flustered, loses a word or does and says things that are not logical. Part of me gets that this is what it is and part of me grieves what he used to be in some ways. I am sad when I discover something new that he is doing that is not who he was...I am in counseling to help me cope with all the changes. We''ve been married over 30 years and our kids are all grown. I am also scared. I am a believer and pray God will give me the strength I need...

I am in the same situation.  It's difficult. I pray for strength and courage every day.
