New tablet for LO has really helped us, may help you

We all know there can be bumps in the road when it comes to technology and our LOs, especially when they are in AL/MC and visitation is restricted. Our caregiver recommended we buy my mom a Grandpad, which is like a very simplified iPad. I have an app I can use to upload photos to it, call her on it, video call, or text her. It has brought her so much joy. For reference she is stage 5 and is still able to use it. She cannot really type messages back to me anymore, but has video called me once and is always able to receive my calls and messages. I also can control who is able to contact her on that device, which has it's own telephone number and email address. 

In addition to connecting with us, she can read curated news articles, browse websites that I select for her to have access to, and listen to music. 

The service costs us about $80 a month, but with it I've been able to cancel her cell phone and landline. I just wanted to pass this along in case it could be as useful to anyone else as it has been to us. I am not affiliated in any way with this company.
