neurologist/sundowners

My step father has been in AL/MC for about a year and a half. He is experiencing sundowners now and feels he needs to go home. Right before covid happened his neurologist appt. had to be cancelled and he hasn't been back. To be honest other than the meds I wasn't sure he needed to go anymore. It didn't help that the doctor was a jerk even though he is suppose to be one of the best. My dads MD is the facility doctor who is and will continue to prescribe his ALZ meds. He also added an anxiety med for his sundowners. My dad has declined some(still middle stage) but appears to be happy as can be with ALZ. Should I bother taking him back to the neurologist now that restrictions for covid are loosening?

Don't see any reason why you should. If the facility doc needs help, a geriatric psychiatrist may be of more help than a neurologist at this stage.0
