old newspapers

My dad is in late middle stages.  Sometimes he is within 10 years of now sometimes he is back in his late 20's-30's.  When going through some of his boxes I found a bunch of old newspapers, sports sections only.  He used to save them.  Should I take them to him to look at or would that confuse him even more?

My advice is to get rid of them, without showing them to him.

My DH also hoarded newspapers and magazines. If you asked him if he wanted them, he always said yes, as he does to almost every question. But if you asked him why, or what interested him, he could not say. I dumped them all, he never asked about them. But if he saw me trash them, he’d say he wanted. But not why.

Get rid of them when he’s not watching.

I think that I'd give it a try with one newspaper clipping.  See if he can read it or if he enjoys looking at it.  During the beginning of the pandemic my dad would watch the World Series on tv.  He had no idea it was an old game and it was something he enjoyed doing.  Who cares if I already knew the outcome of the game.
