Need Advice, My aunt is becoming incontinent of bowel.

Hi all, in the morning I am beginning to wake up to my aunts sheets being covered in feces. She’s defecating on herself while she is in bed, she removes her disposable brief and places it in the trash or sometimes the commode and it seems like she just poops away. Any suggestions? Has anyone experienced this?

I can tell you what we do in the skilled nursing facilities...take the PWD to the bathroom more often so that they have a chance to go to the bathroom in the toilet and we check on them more often to see if they have had a bowel movement before they can get a chance to take off their soiled diaper.  In the home environment it may mean that you need to check on your LO in the night or have a night time caregiver to be present.  Sorry that you are going through this.  Cleaning up poop is not pleasant, but we do it for them.

At Buckandbuck.com you can buy clothing that can only be opened from the back, so that the undergarments cannot be removed by the wearer.

Protect your mattress! 6 sided waterproof cover and then pads on top of the bottom sheet. I used crib sized pads in addition to washable "hospital" pads.
