Home Care Recommendations Wnchester VA Area

My mom has ALZ and my dad is her caregiver.  He is very capable but I feel he needs  a break so I'm looking for in home care 1-2 x's week so he can go and run errands etc.  Anyone in this group familiar with this area and in home care. Any recommendations on how to get referrals etc? My dad is on board with this which is great, but I'm doing the searching. Thanks.

A referral from a friend or family member is always great or a social worker can provide you with a list of agencies. Maybe healthcare staff/doctors would have recommendations too. Good luck!

Cheryl, Winchester being a college town might help you, but for myself I only know two people there and haven't spoken to either in many years. In central VA we used Comfort Keepers for MIL. I used two services for Mom-- BrightStar (all CNA's), and Seniors Helping Seniors, which is a small local-ish outfit providing high-quality companionship/chauffeuring. There might be something like that up your way. Best of luck!
