Covid and facility activities?

For those of you experienced with AL and MC facilities, were group activities or the like put on hold in 2020 due to covid? Were your LOs alone some of the time that was usually used for activities or socialization?  I’m just curious, thanks for any response.

When my dad was in the nursing home (3/2020-7/2020) all activities were put on hold.  Patients had to stay in their rooms the whole time.  Physical therapy would come to their rooms.  I'm not sure how it is now that vaccines are widely available.

Yes, when my mom was in AL in 2020 the activities were stopped for much of the time. She spent a lot of time alone in her apartment with even meals being brought to the apartment. It was very hard on her and honestly, I believe hastened her decline both mentally and physically. It was and is heartbreaking... God Bless.

I should add that now she is in a new Memory care facility where  the residents are involved in many daily activities and only the staff wear masks ( they are tested for Covid weekly and screened daily) which is nice for the residents. She has just been there since February, so I don't know what they did in 2020.
