Delusions about cheating spouse

My mom is 73, my stepdad is 75.  Mom has dementia and is absolutely convinced that my stepdad is cheating on her.  He has plenty of health issues as week.  She causes him weekly of cheating on her.  It is causing a huge rift between them.  She's also convinced that my bio dad, who has been divorced from her for 45 years is sending her subversive messages through Facebook.  He isn't.  I'm so distraught about this.  Any advice?

My Dad did the same thing to my Mom, he died in 2015.  He had delusions but this was one of the first and he was convinced beyond all reasoning.  It was very hurtful and devastating as he accused a lifelong friend out of the blue of having an affair with her at a time when they didn't even live in the same town.  It made for a very sad end to that friendship and really hard time for my Mom as she was angry at her spouse and hurt by his accusations which he was too sick to apologize for or understand rational discussion about.

Its horrible.  It may be a sign he will suffer from additional delusions going forward, my Dad did.  Everything from people were following him to someone threw a baby at him in church.  He would talk about it like it really happened. Always so weird that he could remember the delusion but not actual, true memories and experiences.

This disease is brutal.  The best advice I can give you is to try to comfort and counsel your Mom through this time, its not him talking its the disease.

Frenchy, have you talked to anyone about antipsychotic medications? They might help; or if she's already on something, dose adjustment may be necessary. Worth considering perhaps.
