Is he nearing the end?

My DH is in advanced stage Alz. For the past five days he has wanted to do nothing but sleep and sit in a chair and stare. I managed to get him out for a walk yesterday but we used to take rides to the park and walk. It is extremely difficult making him understand how to get into the car - he just wanders around. Lately he has gone to bed about 9:30 at nite and will sleep til 1 or 2 the next day. I get him cleaned up and fed and he falls sound asleep in his chair. He didn't have the best nights sleep last night, just laying in bed talking to people and laughing til 2 or 3 in the morning. Has anyone else experienced this? Is this coming to end stage? Is it time to call hospice in for evaluation?
Thank you all for your support.

I would contact some hospices for an eval, but he doesn't sound near death to me, especially if he is still eating and drinking.0

You certainly have nothing to lose by calling hospice. And maybe a lot of support to gain...0
