Last night a beautiful thing happened

I had gone to bed alone again as my husband has been either sleeping in the guest room or on the couch the last few weeks.  It was hot and I was having a hard time sleeping when around 12:30 I heard the bedroom door open and he came in.  I asked if he would like to come to bed and he crawled in.  He asked me if he could hold me and I rolled over where he gently caressed my shoulder.  I said this is very nice to which he agreed.  A little while later he said to me that he was sorry and we need to be kind to each other because I am the only one who is there for him.  I prayed we could go to sleep which we did and both slept well until the cat had other plans at 6:00am.  He's a little snarky this morning but much better then most.  When we are having a bad day I will think back to last night with some comfort in my heart.
