Lord, Give Me Patience

*
Galatians 5:22-23 NKJV “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control. Against such there is no law.”
*
James 1:19-20 NKJV “So then, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath; for the wrath of man does not produce the righteousness of God.”
*
me: Sometimes, we feel stressed and overworked and have little time for ourselves to recharge. We are often tempted to not listen and lose patience with the people in our lives. You and I will benefit greatly if we get ourselves into the right mind frame early in the morning. I think of this as turning my default setting to love.

*

How is it possible to keep that sweet setting all day long? We cannot do it ourselves; we need supernatural help. First, let’s begin our day with prayer to our loving God who makes the impossible, possible and also loves us. Let us thank Him and praise Him for all creation and sending His Son Jesus to be the Sacrificial Lamb who took our place on the cross so we can be saved from our sins. Second, let us ask Holy Spirit to enable us to use the fruit He grows so we can love and be kind to others. Then we will be courageous, take a deep breath and start the day with confidence.
*
Take Away: Try to look for a Bible study that will guide you through parts of the Bible. I particularly like the ones Seedbed puts out. Meditating on the Word just a few minutes a day encourages us and aides Holy Spirit teaching us what we need to learn for our best life, a life of victory in Christ Jesus.

Sis, my mind is filled with so many memories of Barbara, that sometimes they get lost in the everyday shuffle of staying alive. There were times ( far too many ! ) when I would come in from work complaining about how some car I was trying to repair was getting the best of me, and she would just ask , " did you pray about it ? "

Of course, the answer would be " no . "  She was always my compass in keeping me aimed towards Our Lord, and that is just one of the many  things I miss about her.

Even when she was unable to understand most of what I said, she could still calm me down and re-center my thinking by looking at me and raising her arms for a hug. Even near the end of her physical life, when her legs were all but useless, those arms were still able to reach me.

Isn't that what Our Lord does for us all the time too ? When everything is in disarray about us, doesn't He ask us if we remembered to pray about it ? When nothing is going right, doesn't He reach out  to wrap His arms around us ?

I know I don't stay on topic very well Sis, but praise The Lord for your ability to draw the thoughts out of us, and help us to remember to whom we owe everything.

Chris, your thoughts are always welcomed.  I enjoyed reading all of what you wrote, bringing us your real life experiences.  And the above paragraph is so true for all of us who seek the Lord.

VKB, Praise the Lord, thank you for this. Lately, I cannot seem to get enough of the Lord. I am surrounded by non believers whom at times say things, that I find so upsetting, and not supportive of what I am trying to get through as a caregiver. I do not understand how people can be so uncaring. thank you thank you for reminding me to not let Satan in.
