Mom passed away June 15, 2021
Hello,
It's been years since I have posted here. I came here for questions and support, life got very busy, and I am back here now because my mom passed away last June. I miss her terribly and having to lose her during covid was horrible. I thank God we were allowed in her assisted living facility for her final days, but she passed away in the middle of the night when I could not be there. I know each time I left, she didn't want me to go. They restricted our visits, and staff did their very best, but I believe she would've lived longer had the facility not gone into lockdown. We have a severely disabled son and could not possibly have had her move in with us. I grieve the loss of time and wish I'd had more time with her, but I truly did my best and carry guilt because I was spread too thin at times and my family suffered. Mom was diagnosed 18 years ago, but she remembered our names and I treasure the time we had.
I hope I can offer encouragement and support on this forum. It is a difficult road. I feel an emptiness now and want to give to others. I hope I can support people walking this road.
Thank you!

Amymv, I am so very sorry for the passing of your dear mother. Many people who have lost a LO during COVID lockdown had even less time with their LOs, so you were given a great blessing.
I'm sorry that you were unable to be with your mother at the time of her death, but oddly, even though my mother lived in our home and I was at her bedside for hours before, she chose the minutes I was out of the room to pass. It happened so quietly and peacefully. Let's believe that your mother also passed in such a way.
I hope you are taking good care of yourself. It is important that you do since grief can make us sick. Take good care and please come here often to let us know how you are doing. I wish you the very best.

Thank you so much, Tess! The nurse who found my mom had passed told me mothers often times want to spare their children and go when they aren't there. So, I am sure the same happened with your mom. I am very sorry for your loss. Mom's one year anniversary is coming up on June 15th.
I hope we can both take care of ourselves. Thank you!

I also joined here years ago but never had time to actively participate. My mom is now actively dying and I do hope to help others from my experience as well. I believe it will be the only thing that eases the pain and suffering of losing her.0
