My husband has been recently diagnosed frontotemporal dementia. I am his full-time caregiver.

I am looking to connect with other caregivers.

Welcome PMJ.  A book that may help is "What if it's not Alzheimer's" by Gary and Lisa Radin.

PMJ, FTD is a far greater challenge for a caregiver than Alzheimer's so I would encourage you to start reading as much as possible on the subject and there is a wealth of information here on this site that can offer you comfort and information.  My journey with FTD lasted 10 years and in that time little was known even among physicians.  The challenges were vast trying to get people to understand what was going on and you will experience behaviors that are so outrageous that people, including family members, will deny are happening.  My advice is to develop a thick skin as you will become a likely target for the anger and aggression that are common with FTD.  During my time as a 24/7 caregiver, I created a log of behaviors and a timeline in which I could track the decline and presented that information to his Neurologist so an accurate diagnosis could be made and not mixed into the fall back diagnosis of Alzheimer's.
Understand that this form of dementia shares commonality with Alzheimer's, however, the behaviors are considerably different and much more difficult to mitigate and even more difficult to treat.  My prayers are with you during a journey that will test you to the core.
