Can't Hold Head Up

My 78 year old mother has dementia/Alzheimer's and is living at a memory care facility.  She has a hospice nurse that comes to visit her.  Mom is showing a new symptom of the progression of this awful disease.....she can't HOLD HER HEAD UP!

I spoke to her nurse, who visits her once a week, and she has not noticed mom's head down, however, when I go to visit and help her with an activity or puzzle she literally has to put her hand under her cheek/chin and hold her head up.  She tells me that her head feels heavy.  She also tells me that it does not hurt.

I was wondering if anyone else's LO had this symptom and if you can offer advice on how can I help mom?

Thank you!

If she is in a conventional wheelchair now, I would suggest hospice providing a Broda chair or a geri-chair where she is not required to hold her head up.  The back of the chair can be adjusted to a semi-reclining position.
