Late Stage 7 - hanging on

Dh is still hanging in there with us.  He is sleeping more and more though, which is worrisome.  This just started the past week.  Can barely get him to wake enough to feed him.  Which is especially worrisome.  He is still at home with me and my daughter.  We have hospice aid come in 3 times a week to help bathe him. We can barely get him out of bed and into the recliner in the living room where he has started going back to sleep in.  He never slept in the chair before.  I feel him slipping away. In my head I know what is happening, it's just my heart that refuses to accept things.  I take comfort in feeding him what I can, holding his hand, bathing him, changing him and laying in bed with him (we have a large king size adjustable bed).  Just bought him a new soap from Bath & Body Works for men so he smells nice.  I keep buying him new t-shirts to sleep in, steak and desserts which he still enjoys when I get him eating.
I guess I'm just rambling. Just sad.

It is terribly sad. I lost my EOAD last week at the age of 65 so I can relate to your feelings right now. Hug him while you can. It will be a comfort to you while you wait this disease out. Hugs.

Yes.. hang in there..I lost my EOAD wife on January 8 ...23 days short of her 65th birthday.
Because of COVID restrictions.. we just did the internment on June 19...
My thoughts and prayers are with you, and yours.
