When DH is sitting, he crosses his feet and rubs them back and forth. He can’t wear shoes with laces as the movement unties them. He has been wearing Velcro fastening shoes and they work but he wears out the top of the shoes eventually destroying the Velcro. He is also a restless sleeper. Evaluation by the motion specialist 2 years ago ruled out Parkinson’s.
Yesterday I took a video of him to his geriatric psychiatrist appointment. I was really hoping for some help because this is driving me crazy. The Dr. said none of his meds would cause this. She then asked DH if it bothers him and he said “not at all”. She asked if he would be willing to go back to the motion specialist. DH said he didn’t want to do that. The Dr. looked at me and said I guess he doesn’t have a problem.

Seems like the motor aspects of the disease don't have any easy answers.  Most of the meds for motion problems are pretty toxic and pretty hard to take I think--treatment may be worse than the disease, for them.  Too bad they can't medicate US so it doesn't bother us caregivers so much, huh?!?  Gotta be really irritating.
