Bathroom suggestions

Hi, my wife is in the moderate stage of ALZ and I would be grateful for any techniques or suggestions to keep her clean after going to the bathroom.

Many people find a bidet helps keep a PWD clean. You can order them from Amazon or similar and add them to a normal toilet without too much effort. Other than that it will take someone wiping for her. If she isn't currently in Depends or other briefs it is probably time, this will help keep clothing clean since  accidents are inevitable even on a frequent toileting schedule.

Buy some of the Depends that look like real women's underwear, then put them in her drawer in place of the regular underwear . Even if she makes it to the bathroom now , leaks will start happening, and it's a good idea to make this transition now. And yes, someone will have to assist her with wiping. Try to avoid explaining or reasoning with her, it's unlikely she can process this and it will just make both of you frustrated and angry. Just do it in a low key way, and she will probably accept the help.

Depends has worked well for both my parents.  With Dad, we've learned that adult hygiene wipes help considerably and allows him to do a fairly good job of cleaning himself which helps his self esteem.

A bidet with a remote is a good investment. Ours has all the bells and whistles.

I also got a Bissle wet vac. It really helps with the odor in my dad's bathroom. He still complains that the toilet is leaking, but it is so much easier to clean.
