Daycare Shutdown

Yesterday I received a call from DH’s daycare asking me to pick him up as they have a positive Covid case in the building. The building is a continuum care facility with 400 workers plus residents. DH was tested before I picked him up. We quarantined in our condo while waiting for results. Fortunately his test is negative.

The person who has Covid is a fully vaccinated outside contractor who aids people in the memory care unit. Residents of that unit participate in the day care program too. The facility is in the process of contact tracing and testing everyone. They will retest for antibodies twice more in two week intervals.

I sure did enjoy DH being in daycare twice a week for the past three weeks (new to program) and he did well with it. My stress level has dropped significantly. Wondering when all of this will be over. We never know what tomorrow will bring.

It's a shame that your DH can't go to daycare for now. You getting a break is a wonderful thing. I hate this disease, it sucks the life out of all of us. That's not bad enough! Now we have COVID to deal with. I'm sorry the daycare came to an end.

That sucks. Hopefully it won'r be too long before they're back in business.

Oh gosh; I am so sorry. I hope that they will reopen as soon as the isolation is complete.  Really stunning thing to happen, but it is becoming more common. Masking SO important.  May your LO do well and may you get your respite days back soon.

Thank you so much for your kind and encouraging comments. I really appreciate your thoughtfulness.

Isn’t it amazing how one innocent person has affected the lives of so many by going to work and doing his/her job. This virus is awful.
