Simple Solutions using Duck Tape & a Rubber Band

DH just finished post hospital discharge occupational therapy (OT). One really helpful tip we learned and implemented was using colored contrasting tape on our steps, to help DH differentiate one step from another. I alternated red and neon yellow using Duck brand tape which seems textured enough. I have attached a picture.

I also used the neon yellow tape to mark a specific place on the safety bar in the bathroom for DH to grab when he sits on the toilet. It has helped getting DH to sit where he is supposed to (not hang his fanny over the side or too far forward). Also notice the rubber band that holds the toilet lid up all the time. I learned this nifty trick on this website. If you have ever had the misfortune of cleaning poop off the top of the toilet lid, you will appreciate the simplicity of this solution.

LT, thank you for sharing these tips. I use duck tape to make a big X over the bath tub at home and here at my parents house. It keeps momma out of the tub unsupervised. She has always liked to soak in a tub of hot water. Unfortunately she can no longer get in and out safely.

Hug Hap for me! I hope you and DH are having a peace filled day.
