Facility Suggestion

Hi everyone !! 

Last we checked in was a few months ago and we were having problems. I have been meaning to check in but haven't had the time since I myself have started a job on top of my other activities. 

Today we got notice that we have to search for a nursing home as the current location is giving him the notice of termination due to behavior issues. This being said I wanted to take time to suggest this type of facility to anyone who has someone who isn't quite ready for a nursing home but can't be home on their own or is having problems finding a caregiving company to keep them at home.

It is an in between option where there is a nurse there 24 hours and they live on their own. It is a group setting so they are social, to describe it; they are roommates in a house together. The one we found was amazing and tried to keep dad there without ever having him check into a nursing home as they had virtually everything they needed right there. Dad loved it  and was able to cook what he wanted when he wanted and do pretty much what he wanted when he wanted. He was also able to stay with his adult daycare program that we had set up with his caregiving situation. This gave us a few months at least of not worrying about him. 

So I strongly suggest for anyone with a similar situation to talk to your community care coordinator (social worker) to see about a facility like this for your loved one. They really work!! 

Also I would like to say we just don't have enough of them so if anyone is inspired by their struggle to open a place like this DO IT. We need to have more to keep our family as independent as possible until they just can't be anymore.
