I sleep thru his midnight shenanigans

I know that some caregivers use alarms triggered by pressure switches in the carpet by the bed. I either wake up or I don’t and deal with mess in the morning. I used to be a sound sleeper, but now I seem to sleep with one ear tuned to my wife. I do the best I can.0

You could try some type of decoration that included bells and hang it on the bedroom door so when the door opens the bells chime.0

This is the one I use. It works well. https://www.amazon.com/Smart-Caregiver-Wireless-Alarm-System/dp/B07RCYD69T/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=2EBJQ887234F&dchild=1&keywords=smart+caregiver+wireless+bed+alarm+system&qid=1630626607&sprefix=smart+care,aps,512&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&smid=A2TORNECBMNNW4&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUFXRkpFUVBYU01MVTcmZW5jcnlwdGVkSWQ9QTA1NTIwMTQySEpGT0w3VjRHVE9NJmVuY3J5cHRlZEFkSWQ9QTA1MjM1MDQxSDhZUDc5Q0pURkk4JndpZGdldE5hbWU9c3BfYXRmJmFjdGlvbj1jbGlja1JlZGlyZWN0JmRvTm90TG9nQ2xpY2s9dHJ1ZQ==0

I purchased a motion sensor type of alert from Kerr Medical. The alarm detector plugs into the wall and then I set it on the floor to catch his feet when he gets up. The alarm rings on my side of the bed from the receiver but also I can move it to another room also.

This is the one I have been using for several years now although they do have some cheaper models.

I use the same one that Farm Gal uses. I also bought it directly from Kerr Medical.
I like it because I can take the remote alarm to the other side of the house where I sleep. You can use batteries in the motion sensor or plug it into the wall with an AC adapter.
Like Farm Gal, I place it on the floor next to the wall by his bed and as soon as he puts his feet on the floor, it sets off the alarm.
During the day, I can move the motion sensor to the other places if needed, i.e. by the front door, etc.
Some people have apps on their phones that have similar functions.
