How would you answer them about age?

My grandma has started to ask how old she is. I’ve been reading “understanding the dementia experience” that so many people have recommended on here (THANK YOU!!!) and it mentions this and how it can be a shock to hear your age. Well, my grandma asked my mom yesterday and my mom told her the truth, and it upset my grandma (as you can imagine). She started to worry about being close to death because of her age and confused about where the missing time was. I don’t know how to answer her if she asks again. I’ve said “I’m not sure about that” before because I really didn’t know her age and I didn’t want to upset her, but she kept dwelling and wondering what it was. How would you answer this question, knowing the “true” answer upsets that person?

I always respond “how old do you feel?” and tell them they’re that age.
