Hello!(1)

Hello everyone, I just wanted to introduce myself since I haven't done that yet. I recently moved back to my home town to live with my grandparents as my GF has ES Alzheimer's Disease. My GM is thankfully still in her right mind, but she has been sick a lot and my GF can no longer help her alone. So here I am! I have a very close relationship with both my Grandparents, my parents both had to work growing up so my Grandparents helped raise me. So now it's my turn to help them! Thankfully, it's only my GF's short term memory that's been affected, he remembers stories from his childhood, and recognizes people around the town, so I'm very grateful for that. I know it'll get worse, but right now I'm grateful he's still my Grandfather!

How incredibly fortunate they are to have you! I have not had grandparents for a very long time but they are some of the best memories of my life. Best of luck to you on your new journey.

Thank you! I count myself lucky that I get this time with him while he's still my Grandfather, before the disease takes him from me.
