Linden flower tea
Not sure what to do about all that chronic stress you are under; the headaches, inflammation , raised cortisol levels which leads to cardiovascular disease, sore throats colds, fever coughs??
Don't feel comfortable getting hooked on benzodiazepines to reduce your mental stress and raging anxiety due to the fact that once you're on them you might not ever be able to get off due to the life-threatening withdrawal symptoms??
Want to seek alternative natural remedies instead?
Try a fragrant cup of Linden flower tea with a dollop of raw honey. It acts as an adaptogen. It will calm your nerves and chill you out. Plus, it has a lovely fragrance. Or, as an alternative, place a few teabags in a mason jar of water and put it in your fridge over night. Take out and discard the teabags--and have a cool refreshing tea to sip on during the day. It also acts as a diuretic and lowers blood pressure.
Loaded with flavanoids and polynutrients for an overall healing effect on the stressed out, burned out caregiver.( Might even help with the dementia patient's mood as well..)
For added chronic stress protection, add another teabag containing tulsi (Holy basil)--which also acts as an overall adaptogen and provides numerous positive results on the human body and psyche.Chill out, enjoy, and carry on!!

Is that the flower of the Linden tree? Sounds lovely.
I walked up the street after lunch, talked with a neighbor who was making a flower bed, and am enjoying a glass of iced tea while I catch up with my fellow caretakers. Stress level down.

Beautiful tree, won't grow this far north. I can probably get some tea next time I'm at Mama Jeans natural food store. I'll check it out. Thanks for the tip.0

I got some flower tea when I was in China in 2016. I don't know if it is from a Linden tree. I drink a cup of green tea every morning.

Thank you for the linden flower tea recommendation, Drina! I plan to try that. In fact I have a linden tree in front of my house, I'm wondering maybe next spring when it flowers....
I used to drink chamomile tea to calm down but discovered I'm allergic to it. (If you're allergic to dandelions you're allergic to chamomile.)
Years ago someone gave me a recipe for "calming tea" and it proved very effective. It had equal parts lavender, catnip, lemon balm, and oat straw. Tastes rather awful but is effective.
I've lately been drinking Polish fruit tea which tastes great and is also relaxing. It's made with fruits like dried black currents, elderberries, cherries, etc. plus rosehips. I find it at Russian and eastern European groceries. You can find the Malwa brands on Amazon.

Enjoyed this thread. Going to look for those teas.
Watch YT channel Country Life Vlog out of Azerbaijan, almost every video they make a tea with leaves and/or flowers. Is so very interesting to watch. Lots of different animals, gardening, flowers, cooking, teas. On one they made tea with just wild violets. Was a deep blue purple color. They added a slice of lemon to their cup and it turned pink. It is also relaxing to watch it.

I enjoy making my own herbal tinctures and teas. It calms me and makes me focus. Infusions with either honey or apple cider vinegar are also good. I particularly like rosemary infusions which is beneficial for many maladies including memory loss. There are so many beautiful remedies from nature in astonishing abundance--just waiting for us to take advantage of .
Enjoy!

Catnip excites cats but is calming for humans.
Rosemary is called the memory herb.
Lane Simonian used to post about using aromatherapy and herbs and such for PWDs. Note--not to cure but to help.

Rosemary is a cognitive stimulant and helps boost alertness, focus and memory. It is also a great anti-inflammatory as well as antioxidant. I make tinctures from my rosemary plant and put a drops in DH's tulsi and ginger tea daily. It's also good for muscle pain.Oh, and it stimulate hair growth, too!0
