You CAN Still Smile

So on Monday I posted about my anxiety because my son was taking me to my first Ravens football game that night for my birthday and I felt so guilty about going. Thank you to all that responded and encouraged me to go. After having my breakdown and seeing that my husband was having a fairly decent I went to the game.

It was the best time I have had since I don't remember when. I laughed and cheered and drank a few beers and ate hot pretzels. The energy was so contagious and uplifting that you could not be anything but happy.

I did not realize how much I needed that. It refreshed and revitalized me for the next round of caregiving' which is my message to you all.

Lesson learned: It is so easy to fall into the total caregiving role that we feel we will never laugh or smile again. I hope all of you have the friends and family that I do to encourage and push you to do things. Like it or not, our lives will continue, and it is possible to still enjoy it while taking this journey. Take care or yourself .

    Wonderful to hear that!!

So glad you did go - you got a break "from it all", and hope you do feel a bit more refreshed.  and had a Happy Birthday in the process!  Yay!

thank you for posting - was wondering how it went...

Way to go Jamaicabound! I am so happy for you. Did you do “the wave”, do they even do it anymore?
