Dealing with ridicule(1)

Hello,

My husband is showing signs of dementia.  He ridicules me for things that I di but he actually did, or for things that I did he told me to do. I take a sigh quietly and reframe my perspective thinking he can't help it but I am still having trouble emotionally being ridiculed. I would appreciated any other ideas. Thank you.

A sigh is a pretty good response...in addition do check your non verbal communication.

Your husband does not just think  "you did it" he knows  you did. There is no reasoning but in order not to exaserbate (sp) the situation  you can acknowledge by saying somethin like "well I don't want to do that again".

Not easy but none of this is easy..........

I wish I knew how to grow a thicker skin….I’m sorry, and apologize, if that sounded flip or sarcastic. I mean it, I wish I could. That seems like what it boils down to.
