DH wakes up for bathroom at night

DH forgets to take torch to bed, bumps in the bed at night, this wakes me up, I am a light sleeper, any light wakes me up and can’t go back to sleep. Tried to put nightlight but his bedside but light keeps me awake. Any ideas?

Next, will try glow in the dark paint - on the torch.

Tried anything that solves the problem?

Stuck in the middle

Part of my bedtime routine is to make sure we both have taken our meds.  In your shoes, I would probably add making sure he has his torch.

Some people sleep with a blindfold or mask to block out light.  I have never tried that, but it would probably work.

I solved this with led nightlights that plug into wall outlets.  They are like footlights and give enough but not too much light to find your way through a dark house.

Could you sleep in another room separate from your husband?  I sleep in the spare bedroom next to my husband's bedroom and my quality of sleep has improved.   I have a Blink camera (from Amazon) on him which notifies me if he happens to get out of bed.

Have not slept in the same room with DH for years now. He gets up too much at night (I have nightlights in his room, hallway and bathroom)---and I am also a light sleeper.I tried to keep sleeping with him, but I value my sanity too much. It is much better in my own bedroom and he in his. We are both happy with this arrangement.
