Bed alarms

I need to get a bed alarm so that I know when my husband gets out of bed. I don't sleep in the same room because he tosses and turns, kicks, snores, etc. and I need my sleep to be a good caregiver. Does anyone have a recommendation? There are tons on the market, some are pads for the actual bed and others are mats you put on the floor. Since my husband is so restless during sleep, I am not sure that the pad would work. Does the alarm go off every time the LO tosses and turns? Or only when he steps out of bed? Do the floor mats work as well? Is the alarm that would go off in my bedroom loud enough to wake me?

I have heard that the ones in the bed do tend to go off with a lot of motion. People on the forum have mentioned using floor mats before. I used motion detector alarms, what works might depend on how your LO gets out of bed, always on one side, very quickly etc.0

Hi Nonna. Welcome to the forum that nobody wants to need. We use this from Amazon. It does not get activated just from movement. The patient would have to have no weight on the pad for it to activate. It has two settings for alarm, Low and high. I keep ours on low, and it always awakens me. The alarm can be taken into another room, if you want. I really like it. If I am in the kitchen when she gets up, I can hear the alarm which is roughly 60 feet away. https://www.amazon.com/Smart-Caregiver-Wireless-Alarm-System/dp/B07RCYD69T/ref=sr_1_1_sspa?crid=M8659APJLE09&dchild=1&keywords=smart+caregiver+wireless+bed+alarm+system&qid=1635340337&sprefix=smart+caregiver,aps,173&sr=8-1-spons&psc=1&smid=A2TORNECBMNNW4&spLa=ZW5jcnlwdGVkUXVhbGlmaWVyPUEzTDBQOVY2MDZEWVMxJmVuY3J5cHRlZElkPUEwMzM3MTEzMVpKTEQxWTlER0NVRSZlbmNyeXB0ZWRBZElkPUEwNTIzNTA0MUg4WVA3OUNKVEZJOCZ3aWRnZXROYW1lPXNwX2F0ZiZhY3Rpb249Y2xpY2tSZWRpcmVjdCZkb05vdExvZ0NsaWNrPXRydWU= .0

Thanks for your quick reply. I like the idea of the motion detector alarms. What kind did you use and where did you get them? Through Amazon?0

Thanks for the link to the bed alarm on Amazon. My husband always gets out of bed on the same side but I am afraid that the pad will move around. I will look more closely at the one you mention - perhaps call the company because they make a mat as well and they might advise me.0

I use the Smart Caregiver Remote Alarm with motion sensor.
The alarm and sensor can work on batteries or you can buy adapters
if you wish to plug them in.I put the motion sensor on the floor by his side of the bed and
as soon as his feet hit the floor, it sends a signal
to the remote alarm (chimes). I sleep on the opposite
end of the house with doors closed and it is no problem.
I move the motion sensor into the bathroom during the
day because my husband sometimes tries to use the
toilet which always results in disaster. I take the
remote alarm with me to wherever I am working.0 -
P.S You can call Kerr Medical, 888-254-3444, and they can answer any questions
that you have. I bought it from them at the same price as Amazon, and when I
mentioned that I had free shipping with Prime, they gave me free shipping.0
