Feedback from the last respite stay

It will be finished on Monday. I am not very happy… but it won’t be very long till the journey to Tunisia (28 days)… if we are not locked-down again at this moment.

So I had a meeting with the coordinator of the small Alzheimer’s unit (14 residents) : after the fist week (he was asking why I put him there), he was better adapted but still explaining that he didn’t understand why he was here with all these old people. He is often upset because an old lady frequently lies in his bed.

One friend visited him yesterday. She told me she felt him happy. Even better than 3 weeks ago, when she saw him last time. He was speaking more, mainly about the news. She concluded that he was certainly more stimulated at the MCF than at home.

My conclusion : it will be my plan B. We decided with the director that I will give her news from Tunisia every month and if we see that it could be better for him to come back, then the next place will be for him.

Respite is almost finished. I had very bad nights and my back begins to be painful.

French that 28 days will go by quickly, then maybe he will feel like he is on vacation again. It's good that you have a "Plan B" because you never know when/if you'll need it.

Sorry you're having pain in your back. Hopefully it will be short lived, I hope you have a better day today.
