Can anyone recommend a simple Digital Picture Frame without WiFi?

Hi All,

My mother who has stage 4 Alzheimer's which is progressing quickly loves to reminisce over pictures.  We thought having a digital picture frame full of pictures in her room would be very welcome by her.  It would have to be incredibly simple.  Turn it on and turn it off; even an auto off function would be welcome.  No apps or Wifi to complicate things.

Does anyone have any recommendations?

Thank you kindly,

Pie

Adorama and B&H Photo and Amazon all have options. Depends on how much you wish to spend.

B&H has one for 39.99 - This one is an 8", doesn't need WiFi and uses SD card:

Aluratek ADPF08SF 8-Inch Digital Photo Frame (Matte Black)

There are many options as far as size and price - some that "use WiFi" can be set up with just the SD card. The storage would depend on the Megabytes of the SD card. B&H also has larger screens, but would cost more. Amazon has similar.  Aluratek looks to have pretty good reviews.

You should be able to click that, as a link.

I have something called “Frameo”. It plugs into an outlet; that’s all.  I give the kids a code # and they upload pictures from their phones.  It holds a TON of pictures; loops all day and seems to regularly change loops.  I’ve noticed it sleeps from about 11 PM to 6 AM.  It also plays short videos - no sound).  I am a technological doofus, but maybe you could research it.  Good Luck. (DH was too compromised to appreciate it, but our 6 year old granddaughter watches it like TV).

I completely understand wanting something simple to use, and I think a Nixplay Smart Digital Picture Frame might be a great fit. It’s easy to use—just plug it in, and it works. No apps or Wi-Fi needed, and you can load pictures onto it via USB or SD card, which means no fuss with technology.

My grandmother also loved reminiscing through old photos, and we set up a similar frame for her. She was so happy to see familiar faces and moments from her past, and it really seemed to brighten her day. I hope this could be something that brings your mom comfort too.
