How soon do I need to put my husband on a waiting list for my? He is still very early in this journey but my lawyer said I should start looking at places right away.

EICy, I started looking at MC facilities over 2 years before I placed DW. Once I chose my preferred MC, I put down a deposit to be on the waiting list, that was 18 months before I placed her. I had no plans on placing her at the time I put down the deposit but I wanted to be first on the list for a room when the time came for placement.

I put my DH on a waiting list at least a year before we placed him. We reached the top once before we were ready so they went to the next person. We remained at the top. Once you find a place, ask their policy about that.
