I don't remember who suggested the Youtube videos by Teepa Snow, but I have to say thank you!  I am learning so much from them.  My DH who has been in denial about his mom, really listened to these talks and even mentioned a few things his mom did that she talked about.  Small step.........but also a huge step if you have read my posts about my MIL with alz and how none of her children will do anything because they all seem to be in denial (3+ months from her diagnosis). I'm going thru some of her other videos that my DH might listen to and I'm hoping he will share some of what he's learned.  Thank you again whoever you were!!

That may have been me. I'm glad it helped, and with the bonus of having dh look over your shoulder!

I saw her book on Instagram and bought it. Very interesting. My husband is showing signs of dementia and is waiting for a neuro/psych evaluation. In the meantime I'm trying to cope with the changes in him. Her book describes stages of dementia and I found it helpful to know that what I'm witnessing is not my imagination and it it suggests how to cope with the changes. That is what I'm having the most difficulty with.

MarLee, I think your MIL is fortunate to have you! And yes! Teepa is a huge help to us. Have you read Understanding The Dementia Experience? It's online at no charge. It's also a big help. I wish you well.
