Is there any Ayurvedic or any Natural remedies for Alzeimer's disease?

There has been a buzz about all-natural remedies and Ayurveda these days. When I was researching about it, I could find a lot of therapies for various diseases. I followed the site iahas.com where they talked about Ayurvedic remedies for almost all chronic conditions. I also looked into their all-natural recipes. However, I couldn't find any remedies for Alzheimer's disease. Can anyone help me with my search? Please let me know if anyone has any experience with Ayurveda or any natural remedies to treat this condition. Thanks

caveat emptor.  I'm sure they are glad to take your money Andy.  Not to dismiss out of hand, but if there were something out there that really worked, we'd all know about it.

Hi Andy - there is no cure.  natural nor otherwise.  However, as M1 has said, be careful where you put your money.

I do a little work with essential oils.  What i have found is that sometimes, a lavender scent may help calm nerves. mine - not hers so much.  Music therapy can work.  put your favorite music on through your headphones and just have a listen for a while. again, for myself and DH, not so much for her....   ok, the lavender does seem to help her a little, but just over-all a calming scent for all of us.  Unfortunately, you get the idea.

There is some indication that bacopa monnieri may help in the treatment of Alzheimer's disease.

Bacopa monnieri, a Neuroprotective Lead in Alzheimer Disease: A Review on Its Properties, Mechanisms of Action, and Preclinical and Clinical Studies

Alzheimer disease is a neurodegenerative disease that is signified by cognitive decline, memory loss, and erratic behavior. Till date, no cure for Alzheimer exists and the current Alzheimer medications have limited effectiveness. However, herbal medicines may slow down the disease’s progression, which may hopefully reduce the number of cases in the years to come. Numerous studies have been done on characterizing the neuroprotective properties from plants belonging to Scrophulariaceae family, particularly Bacopa monnieri and its polyphenolic compounds known as bacosides. This review presents the findings on bacosides in therapeutic plants and their impact on Alzheimer disease pathology. These reports present data on the clinical, cellular activities, phytochemistry, and biological applications that may be used in new drug treatment for Alzheimer disease.

The most advanced clinical trial for Alzheimer's disease (although it was an open label study) is for Korean red/panax ginseng:

Improvement of Cognitive Deficit in Alzheimer's Disease Patients by Long Term Treatment with Korean Red Ginseng

A 24-week randomized open-label study with Korean red ginseng (KRG) showed cognitive benefits in patients with Alzheimer’s disease. To further determine long-term effect of KRG, the subjects were recruited to be followed up to 2 yr. Cognitive function was evaluated every 12 wk using the Alzheimer’s Disease Assessment Scale (ADAS) and the Korean version of the Mini Mental Status Examination (K-MMSE) with the maintaining dose of 4.5 g or 9.0 g KRG per d. At 24 wk, there had been a significant improvement in KRG-treated groups. In the long-term evaluation of the efficacy of KRG after 24 wk, the improved MMSE score remained without significant decline at the 48th and 96th wk. ADAS-cog showed similar findings. Maximum improvement was found around week 24. In conclusion, the effect of KRG on cognitive functions was sustained for 2 yr follow-up, indicating feasible efficacies of long-term follow-up for Alzheimer’s disease.
