I had to use mine a few months ago… if you go into your individual contacts, you can add them as an emergency contact if you scroll down under their info. I added about 6 people…. If you happen to call 911, all the people you added will get an alert on their phone… it is a great feature0

My Apple Watch has alerted me that I had an Afib, that my heart rate was too low and also too high. The newer ones Apple Watch 6 and up will also detect your blood oxygen level. It will allow you to make calls for 911. It detects hard falls and will automatically call 911 if you do not tell it not too. It will also give you a 60 second readout of your ECG. These are recorded on your iPhone. Probably some more features that I don’t know about.0

I did not know this. Do you know if the same emergency contacts would get an alert if the Apple Watch detected a hard fall and called 911?
I have been trying to get my 84 year old mother (no dementia) to wear her d*mned pendant when she's home. She's got engineered hardwood over slab floors, balance issues, scoliosis, osteoporosis, poor vision and a giant Maine Coon cat- an accident waiting to happen. She likes my Apple Watch and even wore if for a while rehabbing after a valve replacement to track her steps- if this watch does that, it would be ideal.
LOL, a had a hard fall yesterday while she and I were in the Old City area of the city and I tripped on an uneven brick sidewalk- so she got quite the demonstration of Apple's fall detection. LOL, we'd been to her retina specialist and her eyes were super dilated, so I was really mindful of keeping her safe and alerting her to curbs, dips in the sidewalk and such.
