Marching along

My mil fell twice in 12 hours on Dec 15. Since then there’s been a big decline. We have a hospital bed now. We have Avitan on hand for those nights when she won’t do anything but walk. She sleeps a lot during the day now. Sometimes she won’t eat. All my boys are home from colleges and out of school. It’s busy and fun. I won’t lie. It’s frustrating when they don’t keep things as picked up as I need. Our caregiver is very good. Today I’ll mop the whole house and send someone to the store for last minute groceries. I’ll be the caregiver for Friday-Sunday. We will bring her to our house for Christmas Day. I think I’ll put her in a transport chair so she doesn’t walk all day with 16 people all around her. I’m not going to stress out about the guests or having everything perfect. I already did that last week. The sheep and goats are having babies. There are always bottle babies to take care of. The weather is amazing! The high today will be 72 and that’s the lowest high until New Year’s Day! It will be 80 degrees on Christmas Day!

I’m doing well emotionally! A trip to Clear Creek Abbey and my first Latin Mass in October was the turning point with my anxiety. It faded away after that!

I’m hoping that everyone has a wonderful Christmas with peace and joy.

glad for the update.  have a wonderful time--I was going to say peaceful, but with four boys and sixteen people, that's not the right adjective!!

And she just fell again…right over her walker onto her nose. We will see how the next few days go…sleeping or pacing. Probably both.

That's the way my mother started her steep decline with multiple falls she never broke any bones but she has declined rapidly with the aches and pains from the falls or maybe the falls was just a sign of her decline to come.
