hubby has hallucinated before

like he thought a man walked in our house with a toolbelt (not one there) and thinks the cats point at him and laugh. Tonight is different. He wanted to go to bed early, very unsteady so used the wheelchair got him in bed. About 20 minutes later I hear him talking to himself. I went in and asked if he was ok he said he was worried about pictures and trailed off. It continued another 15 minutes I went in he asked if the dr was coming in like he sometimes does I said no not today. He says he feels fine.   Now he's taking to himself again and not making too much sense.  I'm thinking hallucinating is getting worse : (

Is this a bad sign of progression? His dr noticed the change as have others in the family.

Hallucinations are very common during multiple stages of dementia.

The severity of hallucinations does not necessarily correspond to the severity of the disease.

Thank you Marta . I actually think he was having a mini stroke. They told me at his last cat scan that he also has vascular dementia and showed signs of a few TIA's.
