7 A’s of Dementia

Thanks to Iris’ mention in another thread, I went looking for more info on the 7As and I like the linked article below. This is a helpful explanation I had not run across yet. I see some things in the section on Altered Perception that I had been describing as random hallucinations. The article helps me identify and categorize some of the other behaviors (progression) we are experiencing too. And I appreciate the care strategies.

Thanks for posting Butterfly Wings. I think it does help family members to realize that many frustrating "behaviors" are actually the signs of the disease.
Agnosia, different from agnosognosia, causes the PWD not to "see" what is right in front of her. Or to misinterpret a dark rug on the floor as a hole.
This is not one of the seven A's but please be aware that PWDs tire easily. Struggling to use a failing brain uses up a lot of energy. They need rest breaks.
