I might have Covid

I am trying to find a location in Richardson, Texas to be tested. So far, CVS and Walgreens have no openings for several days. I will try a Fast Doc today at 2pm.

Mom's regular hospice tech has been out for three weeks now due to covid in her immediate family. A replacement has been coming daily.

The regular hospice nurse is out with covid. A replacement nurse has been coming.

Many caregivers with the home care company we use have been out due to covid. We had three temporary caregivers over the weekend.

My symptoms are runny nose, sore throat and head aches. The sore throat just developed last night. I always have allergy issues, and wrote the headaches off to the stress of helping my parents. None of us have a fever. We have all been vaccinated.

Hospice and the homecare company can't come back until Dad and I test negative. So we are on our own with mom's care. The nurse told me to stay away from mom. I'm the one who changes the diapers and cleans her.

Good luck everyone.

Oh abc I am so sorry.  I think what Dr. Woodcock said the other day in the Senate hearing is unfortunately correct:  I think most of us are likely to get it.  It's just too contagious to be avoided.  Fingers crossed that you don't get very ill.  Difficult for your parents too.  Please keep us posted.

abc -  Google looked like there might be some urgent care places either in Richardson or close by that do it without appointment,  but I bet they are packed.  Good luck

Darn!  hoping that with the vaccine, you won't be hit hard if you do have it...  Hope you feel better fast.

Wow! What a crazy day! The good news is dad and I both tested negative. We found a place doing drive up testing, in a metal conex building! Missionary workers from another country! One of the workers from Home Instead told me about it. We would have never been tested at CVS or Walgreens anytime soon. They were 4 to 6 days out. We have continued to monitor our temps, just to be safe. We are all normal, mom too!

Everything should be back to normal tomorrow. I'm going back home on Sunday for a week. Will be returning here soon.

Thank you for your comments and concerns. You all mean the world to me. As always, everyone here is in my thoughts and prayers.

QBC, I still have a runny nose, no more sore throat, no headache. Never had a fever. Yay!

I am extremely grateful to not have covid.

Abc - I’m glad you all tested negative.you don’t need that going on.

I know the omicron variant is supposed to be less severe, but I hear about so many people being hospitalized right now.  A friend has her brother and her husbands brother in law both on ventilators right now, with both wives also having covid.
