Dark Humor: a brief interaction

My affected wife is talking with her affected mother.

Her mother asked her if her mother was still alive.  My wife replied, "No, I'm my mother".

They both seemed happy with that exchange.

Thanks for the chuckle. You just have to laugh at something like that. How are you doing?

Oh…that was both funny and cute.

Sometimes Dark Humor is exactly what gets you through a day…whether it is your spouse who provides it or you engage in it yourself.

Before my sweet Handyman came along I had been widowed for almost 2 years.  I had joined an online support group and made some wonderful cyberfriends.  And, let me tell you many a shared long, dark night of the soul it was gallows humor that got us through to breathe another day.

I find myself resorting to macabre humor again some days.

    Thank you for sharing yours.

A friend once told me that after they put her mother into MC, her mother and her mother's roommate were convinced that they were cousins. They had a good time remembering things together that never happened.
