This is what I wish for you. Here's to life.  https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UTv3TONfTTQ

Lyrics:

No complaints and no regrets.

I still believe in chasing dreams and placing bets.

But i have learned that all you give is all you get

So give it all you got.

I had my share, I drank my fill,

And even though I'm satisfied, I'm hungry still

To see what's down another road, beyond the hill

And do it all again.

So here's to life and all the joy it brings.

Here's to life for dreamers and their dreams.

Funny how the time just flies.

How love can go from warm hellos to sad goodbyes

And leave you with the memories you've memorized

To keep your winters warm.

For there's no yes in yesterday.

And who knows what tomorrow brings or takes away.

As long as I'm still in the game I want to play

For laughs, for life, for love.

So here's to life and every joy it brings.

Here's to life, for dreamers and their dreams.

May all your storms be weathered,

And all that's good get better.

Here's to life, here's to love, here's to you.

May all your storms be weathered, And all that's good get better.

Here's to life, here's to love, here's to you.

Ed! Thank you so much for this gem. It is art at its best; so beautifully rendered it brings tears. Having the lyrics here tops it off. Thanks again!

Thanks for the poem Ed                                                                                                           Even in its darkest hours Life goes on so day by day we struggle on, one hour at a time, one day at a time. We do the best we can we seconded guess our self's, we laugh we cry we bribe and we wonder  when will it all end. What will become of me, how will I carry on with a broken heart and a heart full of regrets, no matter how hard we try we will always feel like we should have done more. We should have had more patience no matter what the situation we should have been more gentle, I could go on but you all know what I mean. So when its all  said and done, we pray that God will say a job well done.   God's Blessings to you all Richard

    According to Art Buchwald
When President Kennedy was killed, my friend Mary McGrory said to Pat Moynihan,

    "We'll never laugh again."

Moynihan, who later became a U.S. senator, replied,

"Mary, we'll laugh again, but we'll never be young again."

DW and I were young together and we kept that  youthful feeling for over 40 years. She never wore make-up or dyed her hair, wore the same kind of clothes,  and as long as it was  private, was always up for romantic encounters. She was an expert with the newest computers from punch cards to touch screens.  And she kept me young.  Relatives joked that she had a portrait ageing in the attic.  Our kids said she had to stop wearing her clothes from college.

Sometimes I feel like I went from 30- 70 in the last five years.   That is what this disease does. I wrote this poem last year , I don't remember if I posted it

    DAWN AT 70
The memories that fill my mind
Some are harsh and some are kind
I think of fear, sadness and pain
    Lives I’ll never see again
But dawn is here, It came to say
There will be warmth and light this day
There will be joy and life to live
It tells me I have much to give.
So take this day and see it through
And see what good that WE can do.

Crushed, the decades pass while we aren’t looking. My fifties and now 60’s have been consumed with illness and loss, and I wonder will I ever be joyful again?  The middle years have slipped by so fast.
