Mixed dementia and hallucinations

I believe we are experiencing and new stage with hallucinations with my mother in law.

She is finally sharing this with us..what do we do? Are there medications that may help or will they hinder?

I have been using natural calming tablets for her anxiety and frustration but this seems to be frightening her

    Hi KBerry -

Please tell her doc.  and what works for some, may not work for another.  Sometimes over-the-counter meds may work for a little while, but it sounds like she has progressed to needing something else.

sometimes can't be sure with natural remedies - they can be great, or can have side-effects, or even no effect. Effectiveness can depend on so many factors.  Tell doc what you've tried already, though.

Welcome KBerry- Was this change fairly sudden? Sometimes there are other causes for hallucinations. You might want to call the doctor and check to make sure that an infection, dehydration, medication change etc. are not contributing to this.
