Video landline phone

Hello! I wonder if anyone has suggestions for a video landline phone? My mom has dementia and I am trying to find a way to connect with her via video. She will answer a landline phone, but is not comfortable with a cell phone, tablet, etc.

Thank you in advance for any suggestions!

Rebecca

We used Amazon Echo which allowed us to “drop in” and video chat with my FIL when he was at the MC facility. It was nice just to be able to check in on him as well. At the stage he was at, it was kind of confusing to hear a voice out of the blue, and he never did know to look at the screen, but he would talk to us. But used in an earlier stage it would be even better I think.

You can set it up so nothing is required on their end.

You can set it so only you (and other loved ones) have the ability to drop in.

Hello Ra2600. We also have 3 echo shows. The drop in feature is great. I can use them with my cell and with 3 I have on upstairs and 2 downstairs. They require a high speed internet connection. They are amazon devices, but you can limit who can drop in. I have 2. 5 inch screens and 1. 8 inch screen. They have a newer unit which makes the old ones much cheaper. They can do so much, play music, ect you would need a Amazon account. Hope this is helpful. Be blessed

I too, highly recommend an echo show device. It worked very well for my father who had dementia. We set it up beside his favorite chair so all he needed to do was glance down at it to see us. He became familiar with it enough that it was a huge support to him to receive our calls.

I'd just add that there is a little adjustable stand you can get to set it on; very easily snaps onto the bottom. Makes it easy to set it at just the right angle for easy viewing.

    Good luck and best wishes....
