What do you do when you believe that your parent is a victim of exploitation?

Depends. My mother routinely gave money to several improvident relatives for many years, but she was fully competent and knew what she was doing. I kept an eye on her and took over her finances when she began to need help, but until then there was nothing I could do.
If a parent is being conned, I would put a stop to it. What that would take depends on the circumstances.

Hi DK and welcome. Your best resource may be an elder law attorney (look up at nelf.org). Many offer a free initial consultation. They could help you figure out how to stop the exploitation and how to pursue getting guardianship or power of attorney if you don't already have it. Good luck-0
