13 years on the message boards

I joined 13 years ago after spending about three months reading every post.  Just about EVERYTHING I know about living with memory loss and impaired executive functions I have learned from the members here.  I learned what to do to take care of myself.  I don't have a natural caregiver, so I have to rely on systems and technology.

I thank EVERYONE, current members and emeritus members!  I would not be here today without you all!

Living with dementia is very hard but there are things to do to make the journey less brittle.  The knowledge is on these pages, but it is scattered about.  I wish more patients were able to be here and be able to benefit from the wisdom.

So glad you are here and continue to be here. Hopefully it’s another 13 years or more at the same level as you are today.

I wish the same and better for you, Michael!   You were here before I joined.  I learned a lot from you.

Joydean, I'm glad we are all able to support and teach and guide each other.  We have to!

    I appreciate you.

Thank you for posting a lot of your wisdom - taking the time to post, and teaching what you have learned.  In turn, I am learning from you, and others.

You - and Michael, are among two who give me hope for my own future... One reason I do check this board - is that my grandmother (mother's mother) had early-onset.  My mother is now about probably beginnings of stage 6 (not 'early onset').  and I have had two bad concussions, which certainly doesn't help things.      Hereditary?  who really knows which family member may, or who will be spared.  I know I cannot dwell on that, but of course it crosses my mind.

in any case   -   thank you   -   as I continue to help care for MIL, stage 5+.

I know you've gone through much, yourself...

and I wish you a beautiful day
