It's DH's birthday...and the sadness just never ends

DH is stage 7e and is in MC. He was 7b when accepted to Hospice in Sept. In one moment he fell (literally) to 7e in Nov. He's been bedbound since. He has to be hand fed. He doesn't smile. He doesn't talk. He's very rigid and seems to have some pain. Yes, he has pain meds. I took cupcakes and a candle for his 66th birthday today and I sang "Happy Birthday" to him. Absolutely no reaction. One more stab in my heart. Watching this happen to him/us is so painful. I cry so much lately. I'm so depressed lately. I just wonder how much longer this will go on. How much more I can take. He was diagnosed almost 6 years ago. Enough already. I pray God takes him soon.  So, no questions, just a lament. May God bless us and our LOs.

June45, can you pray for me too? My DH is losing his ability to communicate and I am having the same feelings as Marie. My heart goes out to you Marie. I'm going through it too and I agree. Enough is enough!

Oh Marie I am so sorry. The not knowing how much longer is the hardest thing for me, I just want the suffering to end.  And I want your suffering to end.  Praying for you too.

Thanks everyone. This is such a supportive group.   

A friend stopped by unannounced because she knew it was DH's birthday. She hugged me and we cried together. Then I spent the evening with our son and his family, so that helped too. I pray for strength everyday for all of us.
