I'm not a scientist.  My opinion of this "treatment" for dementia is that it doesn't really work for depression, which it was tried on, so now they're trying to shoehorn people with other diseases into this.

If you expect absolutely nothing from this, you probably won't be disappointed.  If it requires an extraordinary amount of your time and multiple appointments, I'd probably pass, as the benefits will likely not outweigh the hassle of taking him.
