pseudo dementia

Has anyone here had a LO diagnosed with pseudo dementia?

If so, what treatment did they get?

Was memory restored? Or did the loss stop after treatment?

Any info appreciated.

Pseudo dementia is essentially a cognitive decline due to depression.  Since depression can be many times successfully treated with medication, cognitive behavioral therapy, or preferably both, there is every reason to expect return of some, if not all, of the cognitive losses.  This is all assuming that dementia has been ruled out.

Every dementia patient deserves treatment for depression, in the hopes that some, if not all, of the symptoms are due to depression. Sometimes only time will tell:  you treat and you wait.
